UCPS Food Services
We are very proud and appreciative of the 30+ cafeteria staff employees with UCPS Food Services. The child nutrition employees are very dedicated to serving the students of Union County Schools nutritious meals in a clean and safe environment. They not only prepare and serve the daily
meals, but they are also involved in providing some fun and special activities throughout the school year.Some of these activities are:
- After-School snacks at schools offering school tutoring or other after-school learning activities
- Grandparents Day at elementary schools*
- Thanksgiving and Christmas Lunch*
- Smart Mouth Pizza and other convenient Grab and Go meals at the high school daily
- Summer Feeding for all kids 18 and under in the month of June
The cafeteria staff serve approximately 1,000 breakfast meals every morning between 7:30-8am.
They also serve approximately 2,100 lunches daily between 10:30am-1:45pm. Please check lunch times at your child's school.
A reminder that all Union County Public Schools operate under the Community Eligibility
Provision (CEP). That means that ALL students, no matter of family income, can eat at no cost to them. Meals are FREE! All students can receive one complete meal at each serving time. Signage is posted at each school explaining complete meal options for students. Second meals and a-la-carte items must be paid for by the student. Non-student meals must be paid.USDA

School Wellness Policy Assessment
Here are six points that CSH, School Nutrition and other stakeholders were asked to discuss and review in the current Wellness policy of UCPS:

District/school will (when available) offer healthy eating seminars for parents, send home nutrition information, post nutrition tips

This assessment was done in January 2022. CSH and the School Nutrition Department are looking to hold an in person meeting in April or May of 2022 to discuss, review and update the UCPS School Wellness Policy and will share updates on the UCPS.org website.
