Graduate of the University of Tennessee, MA Union College. Network Administrator Training in Atlanta, Ga., and Nashville, TN. Mr. Goforth worked in private business for a number of years in advertising, music production, and recording studio management. Before moving to Union County, he was CEO and president of Thunderhead Sound Studios.

Mr. Goforth began his career in teaching at Maynardville Elementary School in 1981 as sixth grade teacher. After two years, he accepted the position of principal at Big Ridge Elementary School. Throughout his school system career, Mr. Goforth has worked as teacher, teaching principal, principal, guidance counselor, technology coordinator, and technology, media, extended contract, bridges, compass, and student data management supervisor. Mr. Goforth is a published author with books selling in all English speaking countries. He has been commended on many occasions by the Governor of Tennessee and two commissioners of education for his work here with Union County Schools.

He is a member of Clear Springs Baptist Church, married to Linda, has four children, two stepdaughters, one stepson, four grandchildren and enjoys boating Norris Lake.

Mr. Carter graduated Tennessee Tech University with a B.S. degree in Secondary Education. He then attended the University of Tennessee where he obtained his Elem. Endorsement. Mr. Carter also has his M.S. as well as his ED.S. from Lincoln Memorial University.

Mr. Carter’s career began as an 8th grade teacher at Luttrell Elem. After four years at Luttrell he taught at Horace Maynard High School, was Principal at Sharps Chapel Elem., Big Ridge Elem., and Horace Maynard Middle School.

Mr. Carter is a life long resident of Union County where he currently resides with his wife Melissa. They have three children and two grand children.

Sandra Price

Sandra Price graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science in Education as a Speech-Language Therapist. She received a Masters of Science and an Educational Specialist degree in Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University.

Sandra began her career as a speech-language therapist for the Mountain Valley Headstart Program before working with Union County Schools. She worked at both Big Ridge Elementary School and Luttrell Elementary School as a speech-language therapist prior to becoming the Special Education Supervisor in 1994.

She is a member of the Tennessee Association of Supervisors of Special Education (TASSE), the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the Southern Early Childhood Association (SECA), the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), the Learning Disability Association and a former board member of the Children with Attention Deficit Disorders Association (CHADD). Sandra was a finalist in the 2008 Tennessee Department of Education Tennessee Supervisor of the Year awards.

Glenn Coppock was graduated from Lincoln Memorial University with a major in Accounting and minors in Economics and Business Administration. After graduating from LMU, he taught the 8th Grade at Maynardville Elementary the 1969-70 school year and the 5th and 7th Grades part of the 1970-71 school year. After he entered the military from 1970 to 1976 in the Marine Corp, He worked at Eastern State Psychiatric Hospital as Director of Accounting for several years and also as Administrative Assistant to the Union County Executive for eight years. Mr. Coppock began his tenure with the Union County School System in 1994 where he now serves as Financial Manager. He is a member of Hubbs Grove Baptist Church and serves as Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Song Leader. He is married to Brenda and has three daughters and one grandson.

Susan Oaks

Susan Oaks graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1992 and a Master of Science in secondary guidance in 1994. She recently finished an Educational Specialist degree in Administration & Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University in 2006.

Her career began as a part time high school counselor and part time vocational counselor at Horace Maynard High School. She continued her career as head counselor at Union County High School where she served as high school test coordinator, AP coordinator, and senior class sponsor helping to organize senior brunch, graduation ceremonies, and various college and career fairs. She has taught career classes to various grade levels as well as currently serving as adjunct faculty for Walters State Community College teaching a Freshmen Experience class in the fall after school to high school seniors.

She is a member of the Assoc. for Supervision & Curriculum Development, Tennessee School Counselor Assoc., Delta Kappa Gamma – Beta Pi Chapter, P-16 Committee, NEA, TEA, UCEA, and Milan Baptist Church.

Mrs. Oaks is a life-long resident of Union County and a 1988 graduate of Horace Maynard High School. She and her husband currently reside in Maynardville where they are raising their two sons.

Ronnie Mincey

Ronnie Mincey has served in Tennessee public education with the Union County School System for twenty one years. He has served as third, fifth, and sixth grade teacher for eight years at Luttrell Elementary School, principal of Sharps Chapel Elementary School for seven years, principal of Luttrell Elementary for one year, assistant principal of Maynardville Elementary School for one year, and Coordinator of Elementary Curriculum for the Union County Schools for one year. He currently serves as Supervisor of Federal Programs.

Mr. Mincey received a B.A. in English (1987), an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction (1990), and an Ed.S. in Educational Administration and Supervision (1994) from Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, TN. He holds Tennessee teaching endorsements in Elementary Grades 1-9, English Grades 7-12, History Grades 7-12, the Professional Administrator's License PreK-12, and Supervisor of Attendance.

Prior to his tenure in the Union County Schools, Mr. Mincey served as an English tutor in the Academic Support Center at LMU and taught communication grades 9-12 in LMU's Upward Bound Program. He has also served briefly as an adult education teacher in Union County.
