Nutrition and Foods is a specialized course with emphasis on helping students understand the
significance of food, principles of nutrition, and the relationship of nutrition to health and well-being.
The course offers the students opportunities to develop skills in the selection,
preparation, storing, and serving of food, meal management to meet individual and family
nutrition needs across the life span, and optimal use of food resources. Careers and
occupations in nutrition and food industries will be explored.
