Nursing education includes a variety of knowledge and skills necessary to become a health care worker. This course meets all federal and state requirements for a certified nurses aid.
It is suggested that this course be offered to students in grades 10 and 12 as an elective course. One unit of credit is awarded for this course. The clinical internship is incorporated into this course. A total of 75 hours are required for the Tennessee state test for nurses aide. This clinical internship must be completed in a long term care facility. Additional hours are implemented in the classroom and clinical settings upon completion of this course. A student may enroll in postsecondary education or enter the work force in an entry-level position.
