Special Education
The purpose of the Special Education Department is to assist
in the identification of any student who is need
of specialized educational services and to serve the students
who enter high school and are already receiving services. Once
the student has been identified and before he can receive special
education services, he must be certified through the individualized
educational planning team. During the meeting, which takes place
after all pertinent information and testing results have been gathered,
a four-year plan is tentatively put in place. The department then works
closely with the student to assist in any way in the successful
completion of high school and the I.E.P.
